Definition: Simple scientific-technical derived entity corresponding to a spatial region having an abnormally high density of primary entities that are considered to be the result of a focussed human activity.

Comments: The concept of site emphasizes the spatial aspect as well as the corresponding human behaviour. Consequently, sites are geographicall connected, and different overlapping levels of occupation or use on the same place do not constitute different sites but a single, more complex one.
